Lot 1 Cochrans Island, Shad Bay, NS (MLS® 202316585).
Lot 1 Cochrans Island, Shad Bay, NS (MLS® 202316585): A twenty acre point with twenty-five hundred feet of south facing frontage on Cochrans Island. The landscape climbs to a breathtaking elevation for a truly panoramic view down Shad Bay into open sea. Included in the sale is an additional 1/3 acre island (PID 40236234) and a half share mainland access portion (PID 00377929). Optionally, an easy fifteen minute kayak trip for access can also be achieved from the public Jonnie Mitchell Memorial Park. For what it is worth, from the book, Kidd The Search for his Treasure; “This chart was discovered with several others in the box found by Smith and Westhaver on Cochran’s Island, it is reasonable to assume there is a pirate treasure buried on Oak Island – not necessarily in the Money Pit – and by Cult or Keede, possibly even Kidd. W.E Keede was obviously active in the area. A Wilkens copy of one of the other charts found by Westhaver and Smith (see chart C10) shows that he buried a cache here in 1768” Chart C10 refers to Plum Island which is now Cochran’s Island.
Access by water to the island via Prospect Road (Highway 333) from PID 00377929.
